The trio consists of leader Joshua Breakstone on guitar, Barney McClure on Hammond B3 Organ, and Tim Pleasant on drums. Joshua Breakstone is a leader among the school of fluid single note contemporary guitar soloists. Josh’s style flows on up-tempo cookers that are impeccably clean and fiery. Josh is a first rate improviser and his chordal work on heart breaking ballads emotes wonderful finess. A native of New Jersey, Breakstone has Broadway shows and recordings, the New York Philharmonic, and the Fillmore East as big influences on him early on. Josh was influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Lee Morgan, Charlie Parker, and Clifford Brown. Breakstone strives to play meaningful, emotional, and beautiful music where it exists in and of itself. Josh studied with Sal Salvador, then at Southern Florida University, the Berklee School of Music, and New York University. Breakstone has 20 recordings to his credit as a leader, and has performed and recorded with jazz greats including Kenny Barron, Barry Harris, Pepper Adams, Tommy Flannigan, and many more. Josh has toured extensively in Japan, and the United States, and has recorded jazz tribute albums to Thelonious Monk, Wes Montgomery, and Grant Green.

Organist/Pianist Barney McClure has been everywhere and done it all. McClure has 7 recordings to his name as a leader, and has performed or recorded with over 40 jazz greats that include vocalists Ernestine Anderson, Eddie Cleanhead Vinson, and Jimmy Witherspoon, guitarists Herb Ellis, Barney Kessel, and Joe Pass, saxophonists Bud Shank, Richie Cole, Harold Land, Scott Hamilton, Eddie Lockjaw Davis, Red Holloway, and Sonny Stitt, trumpeters Shorty Rogers, and Blue Mitchell, trombonist Bill Watrous, vibists Milt Jackson, Terry Gibbs, and Red Norvo, bassists Gary Peacock, Bob Magnusson, and John Heard, drummers Billy Higgins, Louis Nash, and Jeff Hamilton. McClure has backed entertainers Bob Hope, Steve Allen, and others. Barney’s book “There Is No Such Thing As a Mistake” is a self-help guide for musicians and instructors at any level. Barney arranges, composes, and notates for vocalists, musicians, and the Boys & Girls Club Heatwave Jazz and Show Band. McClure’s musical interests range from reggae to jazz to classical and beyond. McClure has played all over the world and contributed musically to the movies “Officer and a Gentleman” and “Mr. Hollands Opus”. Barney’s recent recording “Show Me” was done with the Central Washington University Jazz Band. McClure’s zeal for music is his endless quest for that perfect lick, chord, or voice that finds a sweet spot of purity.

Drummer Tim Pleasant has been performing for over four decades and has appeared on over a dozen jazz recordings. Tim has worked with Frank Lowe, Jack Walrath, Ralph Peterson, John Goldsby, Ralph Lalama, Ken Rosenwinkel, David Sills, and many others. Pleasant plays with a swinging feel, great touch, and is an innovative soloist and accompanist. Tim is an integral part of this talented trio.

Don’t miss this outstanding performance of a talented trio of guitar, organ, and drums played by three master musicians. Saturday November 5th at 7:00pm the Joshua Breakstone Trio plays Jazz for Jazz Lovers. We’ll see you there!!!
